Create the life you want to live ✨
For as long as I remember I have loved our nature. And as a kid I was glued to the TV, amazed by the rainforests of the world, dreaming to one day go there.
The years passed by and my passion still remained. Then destiny happened. One by one it lead me one step closer to my dream, the camera gear was added, and soon I was on my way to my first rainforest expedition! And of course it wasn’t as simple as I make it sound, there was lots and lots of hard work behind, working double, sometimes triple jobs, to get there. But my point is, if you have a dream, do whatever you can to follow it. Fight for, believe in it, no matter what doubters might say. Even better, surround yourself with people who believe in your dream and cheer you on. I know I did. You see, life is never as long as we wish for it to be and there’s no re-run. So do it, go chase after your dream. If you just keep an open heart and eyes on the goal, destiny will lead you right to it!

So after many expeditions to amazing rainforests around the world, there I finally was, in the Amazonas.
The journey started in the Colombian part, in a little village, 6 hours by motorbike and boat from the closest main town. Here, the people were totally excluded from the rest of the world, living from the river, their farm animals and what the jungle would provide them. Here, all the tiny villages alongside the river really had to depend upon eachother and the only way to get going was through the rainforest or by boat.
I quickly found that I was thriving in this, for me, heaven on earth. Here I had everything I needed. The river to swim and fish in, the villagers to share knowledge about the jungle and then the rainforest. After a four hour hike straight into the heart of the Amazonas, we climbed a big rock, which I would call a mountain, set up our hamacks, and fell asleep under the stars. Waking up to howler monkeys, red macaws and rainforest stretching as far as my eyes could see is an experience that will stay in my heart forever.
I truly hope, we will do everything in our power to preserve this, not only beautiful, but important rainforest of ours.
