6 things to do for our planet, part 2

by Lisa SihlbergLeave a Comment on 6 things to do for our planet, part 2

How are you? Welcome back and I hope you are ready for part two of things we can do for our planet to keep it more healthy, starting today!

  • You can find this stunning Cocoi heron in south america, below the Andes. I just love to shoot white / bright colored animals with a dark or dark green backdrop.
When shooting in the dark rainforest you have to use all the lights you can get and if you, like me, don’t want to use a flash, you gotta be creative.
Here are some tips πŸ“·
🌱 Find a tiny string of light and be patient to try and find something to shoot there
🌱 Capture light colored animals in front of a dark backdrop
🌱 Instead of flash, use a flashlight with soft light (you don’t want to scare your model)

You got more tips, share them! πŸ˜ƒ

  • This tiny Tarsier is not only an amazing creature and a vital part of our nature, but its also making me smile every time I meet it πŸ’š
I hope its cuteness can put a smile on your face too and make you think about how important each and every little creature is to this planet πŸ™

  • This Red leaf monkey was not so keen on modelling for me. But for me, it is more about the experience of seeing it in its natural environment than to always get the perfect shot. Because we really do have an extraordinary planet, we just need to open our eyes to see it 🌏

Is there any place that you would want to visit right now? πŸ™‚

  • The lovely Squirrel monkey! 😍
Eating mainly fruits and vegetables it can become up to the impressive age of 15 years! It is classed as vulnerable due to deforestation and being captured as a pet. BUT the good news is that it once was endangered instead of now only vulnerable which means that they are increasing in population, yay! πŸ˜€πŸ’ͺ

  • KEEP YOUR BELOVED ONES CLOSE πŸ™
Life will give us challenges, good times and decisions we need to take. Share it with the ones who really care for you and nurture your soul. Surround yourself with people who gives you energy, instead of stealing it. People who give you unconditional love without expecting anything back. People that make you feel that life is easy, because they will always watch your back. And then, do the same for them! Repeat. And lets do the same for our planet πŸŒπŸ’š

The Black Crested Macaque is really concerned about its kin, since they are so rare that you can only find them on one excluded island in the world. Rare, special and full of love for eachother!

Which are your top people you always want to keep around? Tag them to let me know!

  • LIFE IS THE RESULT OF THE CHOICES WE MAKE ✨
Is'nt that amazing? That we have the power to decide where we want to be in five years time. That we can make a difference for everyone and all that surrounds us. That what we do today can change the course of the future tomorrow?

If you could chose one thing to do for someone or something today to change their future for the better, what would that be? πŸ™‚

  • THE EYES MIRROR THE SOUL πŸ™
All living beings have a soul. A beautiful, unique and vibrant soul. Isn't cool to think we share the same planet as so many different, amazing souls. All equally important. The Macaques of Borneo are some of many amazing souls. So majestic and so precious.
If we say no thank you to palm oil and cut down on meat and don't support any company that is destroying the rainforests, we can help save these precious species homes. πŸ’šπŸŒπŸ™

  • QUESTION TIME! πŸ™ˆ
Which animal can move its head 180 degrees, distinct the sound of its prey kilometers away and live up to 25 years?

Now don't you Google this picture, give me your best guesses in the comments πŸ˜ƒ

  • The rainforest πŸ™
The lungs of planet Earth, producer of water, and life provider for half of the worlds species. Not to speak of everything else it provides the human race. Like medicine, food and coffee. No wonder I love it so much!

Despite that, our rainforests are disappearing in an alarming speed and if we don’t stop this today, we will suffer tomorrow. Extreme climate change, storms, droughts, floods and the loss of valuable species.

Let’s stand up for our rainforests by:
🌱 Say no to palm oil
🌱 No to exotic meat from rare species
🌱 Cutting down on or quitting meat
🌱 Not buying furnitures made by rainforest
🌱 Influence others
🌱 Teach your kids and loved ones
🌱 Make demands to your politicians
