New film project out!

by Lisa SihlbergLeave a Comment on New film project out!

In collaboration with my sponsors Focus Nordic I created this short film about one piece of my gear I use when being on expeditions, searching for that perfect wildlife shot!

  • I believe that one has to spend some time in nature, to appreciate it and really understand how it works, why we need it to survive and how to care for it. One of my absolute favourite places on earth is the ancient and wise rainforest of Borneo. It has surprised me more than one time with giving me clarity, inspiration and will to fight even harder to keep it alive. Now, more than ever with all the fires going on in our rainforests.
Where do you go to get inspiration and peace of mind?

  • The king of the Sulawesian jungle, the black crested macaque. So majestic, so rare, so precious πŸ’™

  • A good friend once told me that water purifies the soul. And that is so true! Whenever I need to clear my mind I seek the ocean, a lake or a waterfall and let the sound of water literally wash away fears or doubt and fill me with wisdom. Something I can recommend everyone who runs a company πŸ˜‚β
Did you know that the Earths surface is covered by 70% water. 97% of that is salt water and from the rest 3% only 0,3% can be used to drink.
A good argument why not to waste or pollute it! πŸ™

  • It was only 5AM when I took the kayak out into the lagoon to search for Macaws & Crocodiles while watching the sun rise over the calm water. It's tranquility reflected back at me like a mirror & reminded me how beautiful our planet is in the early mornings. The Boat billed heron stopped by to say good morning while building its nest.

  • This is a tribute to all the forests of the world. ✨🌱
Silently they grow, giving shelter, food and producing air to all living beings. They don't hurry but take their time to stretch all the way up towards the sun, creating massive homes for beetles, birds, monkeys like this one, and yes, for us humans too.
My favourite forests are the mighty primary rainforests of Borneo.

Which one is yours? πŸ˜€

  • I am so grateful for the many adventures I have been on through my expeditions! ✨
They have given me knowledge, experiences I will never forget and have opened my eyes in more than one way.
I am also truly grateful to have collaborated with organisations that are passionate about saving our nature and wont stop until the job is done.
✨This goes out to all the heroes that are risking their lives, that always put nature first and that wont give up the fight of protecting our planet. 🌍
For you I am forever grateful. πŸ™This shot?
It's me and the WWF team of Indonesia @wwf_id documenting the Orangutans in the rainforests of Borneo.
  • The Sulwesi Tarsier. One of my absolute favourite little buddies! πŸ₯°
This extraordinary creature can not turn its eyeballs, but can instead turn its head in 180 degrees to spot their pray. It can grow to be 25 years of age in the wild, but kept in captivity it will only survive a couple of weeks. And of course, who wants to be kept locked up in a cage? By supporting conservation organisations we can help support this little fella and make sure that it does not fall victim for the illegal market. This is not a pet and should be in the wild, where it belongs. πŸ™

  • ONCE YOU LEARN HOW TO appreciate what matters to you the most, you can be truly happy πŸ˜ŒπŸ™
For me that is my beloved ones, staying healthy and to work with my passion and life goal which is to take care of our nature πŸ™πŸŒ
Throw back from making a documentary about the Celebes Macaques of Sulawesi, ones of its kind.
.
What makes you happy? πŸ˜ƒ
  • I truly hope that you all stay safe out there, especially in times like these πŸ™
But also, I hope that we are not forgetting about our other struggle. The one where we are saving our planet and all its species, including ourselves. Without our planet, we have nothing πŸ’™πŸŒ
