Even though I am born and raised in Sweden I have spent way too little time in the northern parts of the world and have instead explored the rainforests of the south. It was time for a change.

Together with a group of friends of photographers I spent a week on this cozy boat exploring the Arctic in the most nothern parts of Norway.
Even though the expedition started with a storm that almost made me fall out of bed the sun finally reached us and giving us that three hours of light per day we needed to find and photograph the great kings of the ocean.

With frozen hands, flying the drone in search of the migthy creatures in harsh winds, there they finally were. First, a pack of Orcas, and then, the Humpbacks. There are no words to describe the feeling of silently watching these giants slowly, but with great power, gliding up alongside the boat, giving us a short moments to shoot, before once again disappearing into the dark cold water.

To spend a week living on a boat like this in an environment like that accompanied by good friends, lots of laughters, and experiences that will stay for a life time is something I wish everyone could do.
Only when being in nature, one realize how wonderful it is, how important it is to preserve it and how amazing all its living creatures are.
